What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
I hate that it is this, but it’s: check my phone. I almost always have an alarm set, so I turn that off, have a peep at my notifications, and check any important messages and emails.
Have you ever felt genuine fulfillment? When?
All the damn time. I would consider myself a person filled with gratitude. And What is fulfillment if not gratitude? I am so blessed to live the life I live, and every day, I feel fulfilled in who I am and the life I get to live. I’m currently traveling, so a lot of the time, I get pinch-me moments where I’m like, life is just crazy, and I am the luckiest person in the world. Watching sunsets, drunk chats with friends, dancing in clubs, having beautiful scenery and food, how could I not be fulfilled?
What is your most repetitive, negative thought?
That there is so much I want to experience and see and not enough time for me in this life. I’m young, but there are so many places, people, and opportunities I have yet to encounter. I’m worried I’ll never get the opportunity to do everything there is to offer in this life. It’s why I’m constantly traveling and have the inability to say no to anything that comes my way. It sounds crazy and I’m aware it’s impossible, but the thought of it really drives me crazy.
What is your most repetitive, positive thought?
That I am the luckiest girl in the world. I have a loving, beautiful family, and friends and rarely feel upset. I’m healthy and happy, and at 21 years old, I’ve traveled halfway across the globe and have made enough memories to last a lifetime. It’s a little bit morbid, but I always say that if I died tomorrow (knock on wood), I’d die happy, knowing I have lived life to the fullest in a world where love flowed all around me and through me.
What is one thing that surprised you about adulthood?
How much I would enjoy it. It’s everything I thought it would be. I’m a firm believer that life gets better the older you get. The freedom and ability to change your entire life direction is astounding.
What are three things you want to put every woman onto?
Wear whatever the hell you want. Life is way too short to follow trends. Fashion is an accessory to who you are as a person, not to the world.
“Everything I know about Love”, by Dolly Alderton. Cliché, but changed my whole thought about what love is.
A good Spotify playlist. Music is good for the soul. Make a playlist for every damn moment of life, every feeling and every person deserves to have a good soundtrack play beside it.
Rank the following from most to least important:
Money, food, sex, love, and laughter (feel free to explain or don’t).
Love, Laughter, food, money, sex.
Love is what makes us human. The rest flows according to my personal needs (those last three are very equal in my mind)
How has your relationship with your parents/ guardians changed in adulthood?
It’s changed for the better. I have the most respectful and loving relationship with my parents now. As an adult, I can see how much they love and appreciate me and everything they sacrificed to get me to where I am in life and also make me who I am today. They are, without a doubt, the two most important people in my life. They are also my best friends :)
When do you feel most like yourself?
When I’m around the people I love. I’m a very social person and form connections easily with people. However, my circle is definitely tight knit, and with those people, I am 100% the person I am when no one is around.
What is the best compliment someone has ever given you?
I have two!!! The first one I received from a lovely chic I met solo traveling. She was 37, and her life is crazy (she is life inspo for me). She told me that she sees me in my young 20s and wishes she was more like me. She told me she was in awe of how I’m so sure of myself and not afraid to love life with such a passion that enabled me to be at a random sex club at 8am with her. It’s the best compliment I’ve ever received from someone who I genuinely look up to.
The second one was recent! A special someone who told me that I was not only one of a kind but one of my kind (his words, not mine!) and that I was worth every effort and thought in the world.
How do you feel about falling in love?
I can’t say I’ve ever been in love. However, I believe love is everywhere. It’s in the people you surround yourself with. I know I’ll get to experience it because I’m so full of love and surrounded by it.
On a side note, I do think I'm potentially starting to fall in love, and it’s something that I’ve never felt more excited or happier in my life. I’m not sure how it’s supposed to feel, but god, he makes me happy and is one of the best people I’ve ever met in my life, I adore him.
What is one thing you’re sick of hearing?
That people care what others are going to say, think or feel about them. Life is way to fucking short. Besides, nobody actually gives a fuck about you. Humans are selfish, so don’t let the thought of others ever stop you.
How often do you feel alone?
Very rarely. I’m content in my own company and have been blessed with family and friends.
What is one thing you hope everyone experiences in their lifetime?
Travel. Spontaneous moments. Good music that shatters your brain and you can’t comprehend how you went through life never hearing such a great song. Walking home from the club and watching the sunrise. Butterflies before taking a leap of faith. Gyros in the Greek Islands. Getting drunk with your family members and spending hours belly laughing. Deep and meaningful conversations with people you care about. Dancing like no one is watching. Seeing your favorite artist live. Making out with someone you really care about. Good sex. Good sex aftercare, too, for that matter. Loving parental figures who would die for you. The ability to feel lucky in life. Anything enriching and good for the soul. A life full of unforgettable memories and people is a life worth living.
What is one thing you hope no one has to experience in their lifetime?
Sounds cliché, but unhappiness or being not content with life. I know everyone does - hell, even I do - but life is crazy, and if I could take away human pain and sadness, I would.
What is the best decision you’ve ever made?
Taking a semester of exchange for university when I was 20. I moved to London for six months. Came back who I am today, and god, I’m happy with who I am today and who I continue growing into.
When do you feel most at ease?
When I’m laughing or can’t wipe the smile off my face.
What does having a successful life mean to you?
Cliché again, but being happy. I’m so young, and I have no idea where life will take me, and I'm happy to let fate run its course. Everything happens for a reason, so I’ll let it as long as I’m happy. (ideally, a job in fashion or entertainment, a beautiful husband who is also my best friend ( is it bad to hope it’s who I’m falling in love with now?), a couple kids, two dogs, my same close-knit circle, my family and a gorgeous mid-century modern house with a conversation pit and lots of greenery will also do).
How often do you think about your body?
A lot. I put out this confident facade, and I definitely am confident in my body, but the body dysmorphia is so fucking real. I’m a young woman raised in a world run by men. Can you really blame me? I try my best to just make sure I’m happy and healthy.
When do you ask for help?
Whenever I need it. I used to struggle and be convinced only I could solve my problems, but I learned the hard way that life isn’t meant to be solved by a singular person.
What is something you feel strongly about?
Women’s rights. Good music. Sustainable fashion. Travel. Human interaction. Not giving a fuck and living. Politics. The fact that billionaires could solve a lot of world issues if they weren’t selfish. Fuck capitalism, in all honesty. Also, fuck men (not all but a lot).
BONUS: Tell me something good.
Did you know that the Australian Olympic team’s gold medals have all at the current moment have been won by women?!!!
