How are you, really?

It’s a loaded question, but I am doing okay. Some days are really great and others not so much, but obviously there’s a lot going on right now, in the world.  I’m just doing what I can to make sure I’m okay above all else.

What is the greatest change you’ve made this year?

Tapping into my confidence. For much of my life, it’s been like the ocean, ebbing and flowing. I’ve made a lot of internal changes to keep it more static.

What is something you hope never changes?

My interest in learning new things. I’m an ADHD girlie, so I pick up and drop hobbies like a hot potato, but I like the initial effort to learn something (Yoga, Rock Climbing, Languages, Web design, etc.).

When do you feel most capable?

When I learn something new and then execute it (near) flawlessly.

How do you nurture yourself?

I either spend time away (which could just be in my apt…) from noise, and distractions, and make an effort to center myself. Or I go outside and ground near the ocean.

How do you nurture others?

I make sure to be present and do what I can to let them know I value them. To me that looks like quality time, but usually whatever works for them.

Is there anything you wish you had said but didn’t?

There are a handful of times I wish I had stood up for myself, in many relationships (Family, Friends, Romantic interests). I won’t go into detail, but I wish I had not accepted poor behavior from people throughout my life.

What is something that turns you on?

Goofy personalities, authenticity, and compassion for others.

What is something that turns you off?

Having to teach other people how to be decent, considerate, and compassionate.

When was the last time you walked away from something that no longer served you?

2021 quitting a job that fully broke my spirit. It was the scariest thing I had done.

How often do you feel you achieve balance?

Not often. I think that for me personally, balance feels like stagnation, so I’m even if I achieve balance for a short period of time, the universe or I do something to throw it off. A great example is my previous job. I felt more balanced than I had in a while…then I got laid off.

What is one risk you took that resulted in reward?

I quit my job in 2021 and left without a backup plan. That bold decision opened doors to jobs I only dreamed about but were all in the direction I wanted my life to go. I firmly believe the universe favors the bold.

When do you feel most overwhelmed?

When I have too many obligations and not enough time to process my thoughts. Also, when there are too many noises happening simultaneously.

How do you move forward?

I allow myself to pause and feel whatever emotions I need to. I give myself to space to feel safe in my body before taking any kind of action.

What is something that will always make you laugh?

I love a good pun. The sillier the better.

What is something that will always make you cry?

Seeing other people cry. I’ve been this way since I was a kid. My sensitivity to other people’s emotions is heightened.

Have you ever been betrayed?

I have been, by friends when I was younger. As I have gotten older, I have come to understand that we can’t expect ourselves from other people.

What is your greatest temptation?

Quitting everything and moving to another country!

What is one thing you feel is missing from your current life?

I don’t really feel like my life is missing anything. Although I don’t have all the things I’ve dreamed of, it doesn’t feel like I’m missing out on them. I would love to move into an apartment that matches my vibe: natural light, an open living space, a big kitchen, and a spa-like bathroom.

What is one thing you can’t get enough of?

Why is this such a hard question?! There are so many things, but I’ll say the Cream Soda Olipop. Something about the taste for me, just makes my day.

BONUS: Tell me something good.

I’m starting my own Pilates grip sock business and am launching soon!! I’ve mostly funded it myself, but bold moves and a bit of delusion are how I’m making it happen. I’m super excited because it allows me to be creative when designing the socks, and analytical when I’m handling the business side of things!
