How are you, really?
Honestly, pretty good.
What is the greatest change you’ve made this year?
I started going to cycling classes, which I absolutely love.
What is something you hope never changes?
I’m incredibly happy with my circle of friends that I currently have and I want them by me for the rest of my life so I hope I never lose any of them.
When do you feel most capable?
My boyfriend tells me I can do anything I put my mind to. He’s my biggest cheerleader so whenever I have his support I feel like I can take on just about anything.
How do you nurture yourself?
As I’ve gotten older I’ve enjoyed taking myself out for dates. There’s so much power in spending time by yourself and getting to know yourself and I love taking that time.
How do you nurture others?
One of my love languages is acts of service, so I love cooking for those I love and doing small tasks for them to help them out and let them know I appreciate them.
Is there anything you wish you had said but didn’t?
A lot of people who I no longer talk with (friends/ex’s), I wish I told them that I don’t harbor any bad feelings, but that we’ve outgrown each other and it’s time to move onto other things. I feel like I lacked a lot of closure in my personal relationships.
What is something that turns you on?
When my coffee is extra good in the morning.
What is something that turns you off?
When I wake up and it’s raining.
When was the last time you walked away from something that no longer served you?
Last year. One of my best friends from college got involved with the wrong crowd. Over the course of a few months, I pretty much watched her turn into a different person. She became very cold and withdrawn, and I tried to offer her my help multiple times and she became angry and resentful. At this point in my life I don’t need that energy so I walked away. I think at the end of the day we outgrew each other. We both wanted different things in life.
How often do you feel you achieve balance?
I feel like I achieve balance most days. I’m a very work hard play hard person so I get a majority of my work done during the day and relax at night and do something that I enjoy.
What is one risk you took that resulted in reward?
Moving away from home for college. I’ve always been a homebody and I’m close to my parents but creating a life for myself three states away has been the most rewarding experience of my life.
When do you feel most overwhelmed?
During weeks when I have lots of exams. I work three separate jobs and it’s a lot to balance on weeks when I know I need to prioritize school.
How do you move forward?
Life moves forward whether we want it to or not, so sometimes you just gotta go with the flow. Also the knowledge that every bad feeling is temporary helps a lot.
What is something that will always make you laugh?
My friends. We try to find joy in everything and laughing over the simple stuff makes life feel a bit lighter.
What is something that will always make you cry?
Seeing old couples out on dates.
Have you ever been betrayed?
I’ve definitely been betrayed in past relationships. Begging for something and having it not work out is a pretty shitty feeling. I felt betrayed in the sense that I thought I deserved at least some sort of closure and couldn’t get that, especially given all the time we spent together.
What is your greatest temptation?
Snoozing my alarm in the morning.
What is one thing you feel is missing from your current life?
This question kind of stumped me. I’m relatively happy with my current life and wouldn’t add or subtract anything.
What is one thing you can’t get enough of?
Sunshine (and we don’t get enough of it where I live).
BONUS: Tell me something good.
You haven’t lived some of your best days yet.
