What is the most important part of your daily routine?
I like a slow morning, and for the last 97 days, I have been diligent with my daily devotional. I also love getting into bed at the end of a long day!
What is your current happiness most dependent on?
I’ve had a rough couple of months, and so now my current happiness is very dependent on me, but really on my faith in God. I think I believe more in joy than happiness. Happiness feels fleeting, but one of my favorite things to say is “The joy of the Lord is my strength.”
What do you wish you were less reliant on?
I wish I were less reliant on my phone; I’m borderline addicted- I take it everywhere and struggle to take proper breaks from it. I know my focus has been affected over the years, but I genuinely don’t know how to live without it anymore. I love when I’m traveling by plane because it’s the only time I get to switch it off and fully focus on something else.
When do you question yourself?
Lately, I question myself all the time: Should I go back to school? Will I ever find the love I want? Will I succeed at my dream of being a full-time entrepreneur? Am I good at my job? It’s ongoing, but I am trying to focus on doing what I can and leaving the rest
What is something that has positively impacted how you perceive your self-worth?
My relationship with my ex—he accepted me for who I am and let me be myself. He constantly reminded me that I don’t have to be perfect and that I’m enough. Also, affirmations! I truly believe in the power of the tongue, and as you think, so you are.
What is something you have forgiven yourself for?
I have forgiven myself for all the ‘bad’ romantic decisions I’ve made in the past. I used to carry my dating history with me, but I’ve realized that letting go is the only way to truly move forward.
What is something you have forgiven someone else for?
I have forgiven friends for hurting me with their words and actions recently. It was painful, but I think forgiveness is better than resentment, and by God’s grace, I have let go of the hurt.
How do you ground/center yourself?
Prayer and taking deep breaths.
What is one thing that helped you through your most difficult time?
My faith in God.
Have you ever felt like the best version of yourself? When?
In the year 2021, I was so carefree, and I loved how I looked. I also got to live in two cities I love. I didn’t feel pressured to make lots of money or find a long-term partner. I just enjoyed myself and life as it came. It was a great year
What is something you fundamentally disagree with?
That you don’t owe anyone anything.
What is something you know for sure?
What is for me won’t pass me by
What are three of your non-negotiables in romantic relationships?
1. Kindness
2. Respect
3. Romance
4. Someone who knows what they want!
When do you feel most comfortable in your own skin?
I feel comfortable in my own skin most of the time. As long as I am a healthy weight, exercising, and eating mostly well, then I’m good. I did have a few months this year when I was deeply unhappy because I gained a lot of weight, but I did something about it and am feeling much better now.
Have you ever been in awe of something/someone? When?
I’m in awe of people who create things and also people who live life authentically.
What is the best (physical/material) gift you have ever received?
I can only think of the ring my roommate gave me for a birthday recently - it's so pretty
What is one thing you wish you had said ‘yes’ to in the past?
I have zero regrets - I always do what I think is best at the moment.
What is one thing you will always say ‘no’ to in the future?
Romantic situations that don’t meet my standards.
What do you believe is your most attractive quality?
My heart - I think I am very kind and understanding of people.
What/who do you want to be when you grow up?
A successful entrepreneur who is confident and making a positive impact on the world around her.
BONUS: Tell me something good.
You can make your magic, and I hope you do! Life gets hard, but if you look around, you will always find a silver lining.
