What is the most important part of your daily routine?
Prayer and checking in with my mom on her day-to-day.
What is your current happiness most dependent on?
Unfortunately, in these times, it’s contingent upon how much money I have. After I pay bills, I go into this dark place sometimes because there isn’t much left for extracurricular activities. I also HATE my current role at work. I am most happy when I’m not in that hell hole.
What do you wish you were less reliant on?
My mom. She’s the best anyone could have. I don’t know what I’d do without her, and I hate that for myself. I know one day she won’t be here. The emotional support she gives to me is unmatched.
When do you question yourself?
I am an overthinker every second of every day. My thoughts tend to be pessimistic - the “what ifs” get me every single time.
What is something that has positively impacted how you perceive your self-worth?
I think growing older and really taking the time to REALLY get to know myself. Reflecting on past friendships and relationships and their outcomes and not taking the negative outcomes personal.
What is something you have forgiven yourself for?
Knowingly involving myself with things I KNEW nothing good would come from. There have been too many times I went against my better judgment and paid for it every time in the end.
What is something you have forgiven someone else for?
My dad, for his lack of effort throughout my childhood to help my single mom financially take care of me, and he was very well off. He was an asshole about money for no reason for a long time. Although we didn’t struggle, I knew the responsibility shouldn’t have solely been on my mom. (I thought long and hard on this one because I am a grudge holder).
How do you ground/center yourself?
Prayer/Meditation. Indulging in the devil's lettuce from time to time (lol).
What is one thing that helped you through your most difficult time?
Crying, first and foremost. But being alone with my thoughts. Giving myself the time and grace to maneuver through those times with a level head always helps.
Have you ever felt like the best version of yourself? When?
I don’t think I’ve felt like the best version of myself yet. I feel like I haven’t peaked yet, but my gut tells me I’m on the right path, and I’m getting closer every day.
What is something you fundamentally disagree with?
I don’t believe that people choose their sexuality. They are who they are, and they’re attracted to what/who they’re attracted to. I wish people would let others live their lives how they see fit and mind their business.
What is something you know for sure?
Everything will work out in my favor, it always does!
What are three of your non-negotiables in romantic relationships?
Respect
Monogamy
Open communication
When do you feel most comfortable in your own skin?
At home, naked, bumping around in my own space. I lived with my mom up until 3 years ago, and being alone in my own home is so freeing.
Have you ever been in awe of something/someone? When?
My boyfriend. He is the most kind-hearted person I’ve ever met. He is beyond lovable and will do absolutely anything for the people he loves, even when they aren’t deserving. I admire him as a businessman, father, and overall partner.
What is the best (physical/material) gift you have ever received?
After I graduated with my first degree, my mom gifted me a diamond cross necklace. I love sentimental gifts.
What is one thing you wish you had said ‘yes’ to in the past?
Going to college fresh out of high school. To this day I still have regrets from time to time.
What is one thing you will always say ‘no’ to in the future?
I’m saying no to anything and everything that could put me in harm's way.
What do you believe is your most attractive quality?
I am a big ball of laughs without even trying.
What/who do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be the best version of myself. Happy, healthy, and free to do whatever my heart desires.
BONUS: Tell me something good.
I’m going back to school in March, and I am super excited. I’m ready for a change in career and opportunities. I also just ordered a book that I’m excited to read, and it will be delivered today.
