What is the most important part of your daily routine?
I don’t have a routine at all! I would love to be one of those people who is disciplined and can abide by a self-set routine, but that’s just not who I am. In my mind, I just have “things to do,” and they all eventually happen within my day.
What is your current happiness most dependent on?
Honestly, right now, my friends and family. I’m going through my first serious breakup as an adult, and while I’ve always prided myself on being independent and seeking happiness within myself, my loved ones are what's making me smile right now.
What do you wish you were less reliant on?
I’m a very anxious person, and I’m very reliant on what I’ve learned in therapy and knowing what to avoid triggers my anxiety to keep myself from being anxious. I wish my brain would just chill the F out on its own.
When do you question yourself?
After everything is over with. I’m constantly revisiting the past, wondering if I said/did the right thing or why I did something that may have been unnecessary. I’m working on showing the past me more love and grace.
What is something that has positively impacted how you perceive your self-worth?
My parents. They have championed me and have highlighted my positive attributes my entire life.
What is something you have forgiven yourself for?
For allowing another person to make me feel like I was hard to love.
What is something you have forgiven someone else for?
For making me feel like I’m hard to love. It says a lot more about them than me.
How do you ground/center yourself?
I stand outside barefoot and just soak in the sun. When my thoughts are really out of hand, I write down my thought process in its entirety and then burn it.
What is one thing that helped you through your most difficult time?
My friends and family! I know I’ve mentioned them a few times, but I really have the most amazing support system.
Have you ever felt like the best version of yourself? When?
I’m going to be honest: I don’t think I’ve been my best self yet. Ever since I’ve been financially stable on my own and have been happy with my work and social life, I’ve had something traumatic happen around the same time every year for the past three years, so I’m constantly rebuilding from a low place. I know that’s just life, but because of that, I haven’t felt like my best self. I have a good feeling I’m getting there now, though!
What is something you fundamentally disagree with?
Dog breeders, if it’s not for a legitimate job for which the dog is being bred. Don’t get me started on the doodle industry. Like, I’m begging you all to adopt.
Whats one thing you know for sure?
I am loved. I’m so loved. I’ve cried more about how loved I am since my recent breakup than I have about the breakup, lol. My people really know how to show up for me.
What are three of your non-negotiables in romantic relationships?
Romantic
Truthful
Generally can function as an adult
(***these answers may be influenced by my recent breakup)
When do you feel most comfortable in your own skin?
When I’m making my loved ones laugh. I have a new niece and making her smile brings a peace and happiness to me that I didn’t know was possible.
Have you ever been in awe of something/someone? When?
Moms!! I have so many best friends who are moms and I’m constantly in awe of them. Pregnancy, giving birth, raising a new born/toddler. It doesn’t matter how amazing the dad is, a lot of responsibility still falls on the mom and I’m constantly in awe of how they can do it all. Even if “doing it all” is just keeping you and your baby alive that day, I’m in awe of you.
What is the best (physical/material) gift you have ever received?
Ohhhh I got a le crueset Dutch oven for Christmas last year and I love love love it. I know I’ll keep it forever and I get so much use out of it!
What is one thing you wish you had said ‘yes’ to in the past?
Trips that I’ve turned down because of money. Life is short, go on the trips!!
(as long as you at least have like an emergency fund)
What is one thing you will always say ‘no’ to in the future?
I’m working on a list of absolute no’s for future partners, and I will be sticking to it.
What do you believe is your most attractive quality?
Ohhhh, I think my ability to talk to anyone about anything makes me stand out, and people seem to like that. I also just care a lot.
What/who do you want to be when you grow up?
I just want to be comfortable to be honest. I want to be a person who has a house that’s so cozy and filled with love.
BONUS: Tell me something good.
I’m about to wake my dog up, and he’s immediately going to get SO excited and happy to go outside like he does every morning. I can’t believe I haven’t mentioned him up until this point. He’s my best buddy, and I love him so much.
