What is the most important part of your daily routine?
The most important part of my daily routine is now talking to my mom and dad about the day. My dad passed away in 2012 when I was 16, and my mom passed away on November 24th, 2024.

My current happiness is most dependent on how much money I have.
What do you wish you were less reliant on?
I wish I was less reliant on my stepdad. I will be student teaching in less than a year, but I can’t afford housing and need his assistance.

I question myself when making a decision that moves me farther away from the creative life that I always imagined happening.
What is something that has positively impacted how you perceive your self-worth?
My relationship with my cousin’s daughter has shown me that even when we are not immediate family, I have worth because she loves me.
What is something you have forgiven yourself for?
I have forgiven myself for not healing as quickly as I would like from childhood traumas and, in turn, ruining the relationships I was dependent on in college.
What is something you have forgiven someone else for?
I have forgiven my mother for putting more time into her new family when she married my stepdad, even though I was still a child.
How do you ground/center yourself?
Listening to old music. It reminds me of my grandma, who always gave me peace.
What is one thing that helped you through your most difficult time?
I am currently going through my most difficult time. I have learned that my friends want to make sure that I feel heard, even though they live in different states.
Have you ever felt like the best version of yourself? When?
When I moved away from my hometown and into the suburbs, I felt like the best version of myself. Although I was alone, I made friends and developed a creative drive again.
What is something you fundamentally disagree with?
I fundamentally disagree with people who think that their luxury excess should not aid other people’s necessity deficits.
What is something you know for sure?
That people are good - because I am good.

I have to laugh, every day.

I typically do not feel comfortable in my own skin, but with a nice dress, I feel like I might be pretty.

I am in awe of my cousin’s ability to be a single mom and still take time to celebrate me.

I once received a portable air conditioner when my apartment didn’t have AC and it had been 100 degrees for 10 days straight.

Any time that would’ve been spent with my parents.
