What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

I make something to eat; I feel so ravenous when I first wake up - it’s all-consuming…then I like to journal and think about the day ahead once I’m in a more stable mood.

Have you ever felt genuine fulfillment? When?

Yes! Right now! I’ve discovered so much love and opportunity this last year by stepping into the unknown in hopes for a better life. I’ve found it now; I live with my partner and pursue what I love.

What is your most repetitive, negative thought?

That I could be doing more. I do so much already, but sometimes it doesn’t feel like enough. (It is, though).

What is your most repetitive, positive thought?

I’m so capable and adaptable! I’ve come so far already; I can’t wait to see how far I’ll go! I have so much time!

What is one thing that surprised you about adulthood?

How natural it feels to me. I always felt like adulthood would be a performance, but it’s come so easily to me. I feel so free.

What are three things you want to put every woman onto?

  1. Being more honest, not only with yourself but with others. You’ll feel so much more comfortable with your own being and attract the people who are like you.

  2. Place priority on taking care of yourself; you can only achieve so much and go so far if you don’t give your body what it needs to do so.

  3. Create as much as you consume. All that energy and inspiration has to go somewhere!

Rank the following from most to least important:

money, food, sex, love, and laughter (feel free to explain or don’t).

Love, Food, Laughter, Sex, Money.

You could live your life without sex and money and still lead a fulfilling life, but it would never be fulfilling without love, food, and laughter.

How has your relationship with your parents/ guardians changed in adulthood?

It’s changed so much! I used to be very resentful, but as I’ve grown older, I realize that I grew up alongside my mum. She had me when she was 18; how could she have raised me any differently than she did? I love her, and I love the women we’ve grown into.

When do you feel most like yourself?

When I’m learning. I aim to forever be in some kind of academic pursuit; I’m so thankful to live in a world that has so much knowledge in it.

What is the best compliment someone has ever given you?

That I remind them of a Jeff Buckley song.

How do you feel about falling in love?

Ohh it’s so tricky and scary, but so rewarding when you find it. You’ll wade around in muddy waters for a long time thinking it’s love, but it’s not. Just keep searching; don’t let the muddy waters cloud your belief that it exists. You’ll know it once you find it.

What is one thing you’re sick of hearing?

Nothing! Everything is an opportunity to learn something, even if it’s repetitive, it may teach you something about patience.

How often do you feel alone?

Very often, but I don’t see it as a bad thing. I think I was made to be alone. I enjoy my own space, and in a way, it’s actually very peaceful. I’m such a psychologically analytical person; I think if I added more people into my life, it’d be a wreck.

What is one thing you hope everyone experiences in their lifetime?

Fulfillment & acceptance. Oh, and a damn good meal.

What is one thing you hope no one has to experience in their lifetime?

The feeling that life isn’t worth living, or they’re not worth it. Life is so beautiful, but it wouldn’t be as beautiful if we weren’t all part of it.

What is the best decision you’ve ever made?

I made the promise to get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable. It’s all just life lessons and growing pains.

When do you feel most at ease?

When I’m journaling, petting my cat, and when I’m cuddling with my partner late at night.

What does having a successful life mean to you?

For me, a successful life is one where I’m constantly learning and making good food.

How often do you think about your body?

Almost daily, but never negatively. Without my body, I couldn’t experience the world in the way I do, so I think daily about what I can do to keep her healthy and keep her going.

When do you ask for help?

All the time! When I need reassurance. When I’m struggling with money. When asking a question that would help solve a mental knot. How could we discover anything if we did not ask for help with it all?

What is something you feel strongly about?

That in this age, self-care is a rebellion. Everything is always screaming at us that we’re not good enough, but we will be if we buy XYZ products or look a certain way.

BONUS: Tell me something good.

It’ll pass. All of it. The good, the bad. Everything will pass.
