What is your first thought every morning?

What is today going to be like? Some mornings, I am ready to take on my day with a good attitude, and other days, I am not. On the days I am not, I wake up with a lot of anxiety, especially regarding my job. I am trying to be better at not letting work dictate my mood, but it can be hard sometimes.

What is something you do solely for you?

Getting my nails done once a month. I feel like my nails are a part of my personality and I absolutely love having a fresh set.

What is something you dread?

Honestly, work. It no longer fulfills me, and I am scared I’ll never find my niche.

What is something you are looking forward to?

Me and my husband’s honeymoon! We just got married at the end of September and are going in February. We’re going to Puerto Rico for 7 days and I just can’t wait to travel with him again (we put traveling on hold for a year because of the wedding) and experience the island and its culture. My mother’s family is from there, but I haven’t been since I was 14!

When do you feel most accomplished?

When I stick to my morning and night routines. This is hard for me, but I am trying to stick with them more and more because I truly feel much better when I do. In all aspects of my life!

What is something you regret investing in financially?

CREDIT CARDS! I moved out of my parent’s house when I was 25 and had no credit card debt but over the years, I’ve racked up a lot and it’s hard to get out of. It seems to never end but now that wedding planning is over, I’m hoping to put more of a dent in the debt.

What is something you regret investing in emotionally?

One sided friendships. I would say for most of my 20’s I had friends who didn’t invest in me as much as I invested in them. I kept these friends around for fear of being lonely or not having a support system, but something clicked in me around 28 where I realized I didn’t need these sorts of people in my life. I now have such an AMAZING small group of girlfriends that I am so thankful for, and I truly feel fulfilled by them.

What are three things you think are absolutely worth the investment?

(financially, emotionally, or time/energy-wise)

  1. Travel! Experiencing new places and cultures, whether it’s in the States or out, is incredible for your well-being, in my opinion.

  2. A good-ass therapist. I found one at the end of 2022 when I was at my lowest point, and she helped me get out of it. I am eternally grateful to her. Everyone should try therapy at least once in their life.

  3. Friends and family. Nourish those relationships because people are all we have in this world that truly matters.

When do you feel most creative?

Honestly, not often. I so wish I could be one of those women who can draw, paint, and are crafty, but I’m just not.

How often do you compare yourself to others? When?

A lot. I’m always comparing myself to people who are at better points in their careers, buying houses, skinnier than me. Social media doesn’t help at all with this. Some days are better than others, I hope one day I won’t.

What is one thing you’d like to thank your past self for?

Leaving my very long-term relationship when I was in my 20’s. I’m so thankful I listened to my heart and knew deep down what was right for me.

What is one thing you believe about your future self?

That I will lead a life I am truly proud of and want. I’m a work in progress!

What is one thing you learned in childhood that you have now had to unlearn in adulthood?

To stop pleasing everyone around me. This is such a hard habit to get out of. I feel like I am constantly putting people’s feelings in front of my own and even my friends have made me aware of this, there have been times when I don’t even realize I am doing it.

Have you ever felt pure joy? When?

Yes, on my wedding day. It was pure magic. The amount of joy and love my husband and I felt was unmatched, it’s a feeling I will never forget. Also, when my niece was born. I never ever thought I could love someone as much as I love my baby niece. She is such a blessing.

What is something that would feel really good to get off your chest?

Even though I love my parents immensely and overall, had a good childhood, I sometimes wish they did things differently.

When do you feel most in your feminine energy?

When I am loving myself! Wearing an outfit I love, applying makeup and taking pictures. I realized that this helps me accept me for me!

What is one interaction that changed your life?

Meeting my husband. The way he fills my cup and loves me is a blessing I cherish every day.

What is something you want to give up?

Overthinking. I am constantly second-guessing myself. I want to be in a place where I can trust myself 100%.

What is something you want to take up?

Working out!!! I go twice a week (though not religiously), and I really just want to keep up with this habit for my physical and mental health.

What do you believe is a universal truth?

That when you put kindness out in the world, you receive that back.

BONUS: Tell me something good.

I reached out to my therapist today to resume our sessions, and I’m so excited!
