What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

Make coffee, Feed my dog, do all my word games in NYTimes app.

Have you ever felt genuine fulfillment? When?

I have: when my three children were very young, I was fortunate enough not to work and be home with them. Playing outside with them while riding toys on the basketball court next to the garage. There was no other place I’d rather be at the time.

What is your most repetitive, negative thought?

That I’m older, becoming more invisible, with no purpose.

What is your most repetitive, positive thought?

That I am a good person.

What is one thing that surprised you about adulthood?

That this is it; you are responsible for your happiness, and survival.

What are three things you want to put every woman onto?

  1. Be with a partner (or friends) that bring out the best in you.

  2. Be with someone (or friends ) who you can truly be yourself with.

  3. Being alone is healthy, it doesn’t mean being lonely.

Rank the following from most to least important:

money, food, sex, love, and laughter (feel free to explain or don’t).

Laughter and  tied for second is love and money (well, I am 66 lol)

Food, sex.

How has your relationship with your parents/ guardians changed in adulthood?

I’ve become a parent to my mother.

When do you feel most like yourself?

Playing one-on-one with my grandchildren or walking in Central Park early AM with my dog.

What is the best compliment someone has ever given you?

That I taught them how to be a good friend.

It’s ok to feel that your greatest accomplishment is your children.

How do you feel about falling in love?

I consider myself lucky to have fallen in love. But not looking for it to happen again.

What is one thing you’re sick of hearing?

You are lucky to be financially sound.

How often do you feel alone?

Occasionally, but not often.

What is one thing you hope everyone experiences in their lifetime? Unconditional Love. It doesn’t have to be from a partner, it could be from a friend, a child, or an animal.

What is one thing you hope no one has to experience in their lifetime? Death of a sibling or child.

What is the best decision you’ve ever made?

Moving to NYC when I did.

When do you feel most at ease?

Playing with my grandchildren.

Or lying on the couch with my dog.

What does having a successful life mean to you?

Having heartfelt relationships, laughing, helping others, and giving back.

How often do you think about your body?

Daily. Especially as I age, something else hurts; it’s hard not being able to do certain things as easily.

When do you ask for help?

Rarely, but when I do, my children and family are there for me.

What is something you feel strongly about?

That family is the most important thing. I encourage my kids’ close relationships with each other. My three sisters mean the world to me.

BONUS: Tell me something good.

When deciding whether or not to tip or how much, just know it will change their life more than it will yours.
