What is your first thought every morning?

How lucky I am. Despite all the challenges, I now have what I once wished for.

What is something you do solely for you?

Disappear into my music.

What is something you dread?

Probably more of a fear than a dread – failure.

What is something you are looking forward to?

Watching my kids thrive.

When do you feel most accomplished?

When I see a genuine smile on my kid's faces.

What is something you regret investing in financially?

My ex-husband.

What is something you regret investing in emotionally?

Nothing – I live life with no regret. I love who I am today and wouldn’t be her if I un-did a single part of the journey.

What are three things you think are absolutely worth the investment?

(financially, emotionally, or time/energy-wise)

  1. Giving without the expectation of anything in return

  2. Learning how to love yourself more than anything else on the planet. It seems cliché, but it’s the gods-honest truth.

  3. Take the vacation – just do it – go somewhere and leave the world behind or a little bit.

When do you feel most creative?

When I am left alone to ponder.

How often do you compare yourself to others? When?

I only compare myself to myself. Daily. Sometimes, I celebrate. Sometimes, I critique, but I am my only competition.

What is one thing you’d like to thank your past self for?

Not giving up.

What is one thing you believe about your future self?

I will fulfill the purpose during my time here on earth.

What is one thing you learned in childhood that you have now had to unlearn in adulthood?

Criticism and sarcasm. Nothing good comes from either of them.

Have you ever felt pure joy? When?

Yes – when I stood up and left the table where I realized I wasn’t appreciated. I chose myself, and it felt damn good.

What is something that would feel really good to get off your chest?

Being able to tell my father how he impacted me. How he jaded me. How he manipulated me and never truly loved me when it mattered the most.

When do you feel most in your feminine energy?

When I feel protected – which isn’t very often.

What is one interaction that changed your life?

Having my son's father threaten bodily harm to me while I was pregnant because he didn’t “want ‘that’ anymore”.

What is something you want to give up?

Anger.

What is something you want to take up?

I want to learn how to fly a plane.

What do you believe is a universal truth?

The best is yet to come - at any given moment.

BONUS: Tell me something good.

When you stop and think about someone who has made a positive impact on your life, just remember – there is someone who feels the exact same way about you.
